Valencia and Vermillion: an artists’ exchange portfolio is a collection of artists’ works donated to the University Libraries from artists from the Departamento de Dibujo (Department of Drawing), Facultad de Bellas Artes de Valencia (Faculty of Fine Arts), Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (Polytechnic University of Valencia - UPV), Valencia, Spain, at the conclusion of the exhibitions Valencia and Vermillion: an artists’ exchange. Organized and curated in 2016 by Amparo B. Wieden, UPV, and Sarah A. Hanson-Pareek, University Libraries, USD, the exhibitions were an exchange of artworks between the artists at the University of South Dakota and the UPV. The exhibitions consisted of two-dimensional works on archival paper which measured 20cm x 20cm in size. The works from USD were exhibited at UPV, June 5-30, 2017 and the UPV works were exhibited at USD, October 24 – December 18, 2017.
This collection features the artists’ original works on paper from UPV. The works from USD have been added to the permanent collection in the cabinet of prints, Departamento de Dibujo, and can be viewed at the Digital Library of South Dakota.
Also in this collection are materials documenting the exhibitions and exchange.

Arrangement
This collection is arranged into two series: Valencia and Vermillion: an artists’ exchange portfolio and Exhibition and portfolio exchange materials.
Series one is comprised of the exhibition portfolio of the works from the Department of Drawing of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain. Portfolio arranged alphabetically by artists’ names. Series two contains documentation about both exhibitions and the portfolio exchange.
